Below is a short list of symposia proceedings and contributions presented at Joyce symposia.

The International James Joyce Symposium

Held biennially, this is one of the most significant gatherings for Joyce scholars and enthusiasts. It brings together academics, writers, and fans from around the globe to present papers, discuss Joyce’s work, and celebrate his legacy. The symposium takes place in different locations, often in cities significant to Joyce’s life and work, such as Dublin, Trieste, and Zurich.

James Joyce Italian Foundation Conference

Held annually in Rome, this conference focuses on Joyce's connection to Italy and features international scholars presenting research on various aspects of Joyce's work.

Bloomsday Celebrations

Although not a symposium in the traditional academic sense, Bloomsday (June 16th) is an annual celebration of Joyce and his novel "Ulysses," marked by events worldwide. The largest of these celebrations occurs in Dublin, where the novel is set. Activities typically include readings, performances, academic discussions, and reenactments of events from the novel.

The Zürich James Joyce Foundation Workshop

Held annually in Zurich, where Joyce is buried, these workshops are a significant event for Joyce scholars. They typically focus on specific aspects of Joyce’s work. Apart from this yearly event, the Foundation also organizes seminars, meetings, workshops and reading groups.

The Trieste Joyce School

Hosted in Trieste, Italy, where Joyce lived and wrote for several years, this annual event includes presentations, seminars, and cultural tours related to Joyce's life and work. It's known for its interdisciplinary approach, often exploring connections between Joyce’s work and broader cultural and historical contexts.

North American James Joyce Conference

Organized by the James Joyce Society and the James Joyce Quarterly, this conference occurs every other year at various locations across North America. It features a wide range of scholarly presentations, discussions, and exhibits on Joyce's work.
